 Where better to start than right next door to The Glen House. The walkway from the gardens of The Glen House takes you upstream along the meandering stream. Along the way there are a number of picnic areas and vantage pionts with stunning views of the surrounding coast and countryside. At the end of the walk is the spectacular Glenevin Waterfall, standing over 40ft tall, it is a sight not to be missed during your stay.
Ballyliffin Golf Club boasts 2 of the best links courses in Ireland. The Glashedy Links was redesigned by Nick Faldo and hosted the Irish Senior Open in 2008. With a stern golfing challenge for all levels and some of the most stunning scenic backdrops around you will find it hard not enjoy the experience.
To enjoy for a stroll, fun for all the family regardless of time of year the beach offers a great place to go to burn off some energy or take in the breath-taking scenery. The Glen House overlooks the Tullagh Bay Beach area which is only a few minutes walk down the road. Nearby there are numerous other beaches all with their own character and beautiful views with Leenan Beach just round the corner and Pollan Bay Strand on the road towards the golf club. Inishowen offers plenty choice in respect of beaches all round its coastline from Culdaff, Malin, Dunree and Buncrana.
This is the designated tourist route that will take you all round the coast of Inishowen covering all the stunning views and beaches around the Inishowen coast. The route is well signposted and maps are readily available to guide you round.
A very popular excursion around Inishowen as it offers many varied routes for the keen rambler to follow. None more so than starting right at The Glen House, with the Glenevin Waterfall Park right next door and it also lies at the foot of the Urris Hills.

One of the most popular attractions in Ireland. It offers an insighful journey through the history of Ireland with a large number of lifesize attractions throughout the tour. During the month of December it is transformed into Santas Island which brings people from all over Ireland every year. The kids love the show where Santa comes down the chimney and then gives each of the a present by name. Afterwards all the children get to meet Santa in his workshop.
Every years thousands of people flock to Clonmany for 'The Festival'. With live music and entertainment on all week to suit everyone it is a festival like no other. Some of Ireland's best and most popular bands play live on the large outdoor stage every day with fun events organised throughout the week for all the family to enjoy. The festival takes place during the first full week in August starting on the bank holiday Sunday for 7 days.
Inishowen offers riding enthusiasts or beginners the chance to experience some horseback riding along the dunes of some of the best beaches around.
If you are a keen painter of photographer the immediate landscapes around The Glen House offer great spots to practice your craft.
Fort Dunree is surrounded by stunning natural beauty and an abundance of wildlife. It is fast becoming one of Inishowen’s most beautiful and peaceful locations. Fort Dunree was first opened to the public in 1986 and has attracted tourists from all over the world ever since. The huge calibre guns are still maintained and on show across the fort and the site includes the military museum and exhibition amongst others.
